I’ve been a bad girl, realizing the other day that I hadn’t written a blog post in almost three months (or 12 weeks… 90 days…129,600 minutes- however you like time communicated).
Did you see what happened there? I supplied 4 different ways to express the same passage of time. There are quite a few more, but I’m not the kind of person to try and please everyone- merely trying to illustrate a point.
That point being that society has lost it’s damn mind and common sense has flown away to roost in some unreachable domain.
And, yes, that sounds like an older person speaking. I am. I know what a waterbed is. You kiddies can “google” that. The internet wasn’t at my fingertips when I was young- either I knew something or I didn’t.
Today, society has all kinds of information available to them and social media for keeping up with friends, family or strangers we’ve never met before. And hasn’t that made everything better?
No. Instances of depression in this country are through the roof. I often think of France and how the country has the best of so many things…bread, romance, wine, cheese, museums, fine cuisine, art. And yet, the country is consistently one of the highest consumers of anti-depressants. (I’m not joking- their cheese is life-changing- please don’t snitch me out to Wisconsin).
I’m not going to sit here behind the comfort of my computer and list out all the groups or causes that people believe can right the ship or get us on course to that far-away destination where the common sense has gone.
I will only say that instead of looking for the wrong, the unfair and the things that get you heated…maybe look (view, lay eyes on, concentrate, entertain) the right, the fair or the things that give you peace.
Do something new.
Make a difference.
Be a blessing.
How long has it been?
We cannot change anything until we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. -Carl Jung
